Star cricketer of the Sri Lankan cricket team Mahela Jayawardena said a short while ago that he and his teammate Kumar Sangakkara were "looking forward" to the disciplinary hearing conducted by the Sri Lanka Cricket.
"Thank you so much for the support. I can't control every thing. Sanga and I are looking forward to the disciplinary hearing," Jayawardena told his fans via Twitter a few minutes ago.
Although the SLC has officially stated that there is no decision so far to conduct a disciplinary action against Jayawardena and Sangakkara, sources from the SLC confirmed that the Executive Committee has instructed the Disciplinary Committee of the SLC to proceed with the disciplinary action against Sri Lanka's most senior national players. However, the timeline of disciplinary inquiry is not yet fixed.
Mahela Jayawardena and Kumar Sangakkara strongly criticized two senior members of the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) at the post-world cup victory press conference whoch was held at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport, three weeks ago.
Meanwhile, national players of the Sri Lankan teams today agreed to sign contracts with the SLC as per a new deal reached between national players and the country's cricket administration on payment schemes.
