Gampola Vidanelage Samantha Kumara alias ‘Wele Suda’ told the Colombo High Court today that he had once loaned Rs. 2 million to former Parliamentarian Duminda Silva.

 

He told the court that he had later demanded the money from Silva. Following this, white vans started roaming around his house and police started visiting his house, Wele Suda said further.

 

The alleged drug kingpin ‘Wele Suda’ told these details to the High Court when the trial against him was taken up for hearing by High Court Judge Preethi Padman Surasena.

 

The trial, which began yesterday, will be heard on a daily basis.
