A Colombo Court today (28) ordered the Kollupitiya police to conduct investigation to identify the Buddhist monks of Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) who stormed Minister Rishad Bathiudeen’s Ministry last week.
The Court ordered Police to check CCTV footage obtained from the Ministry to identify monks. Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage made this order following a request made by Kollupitiya police.

Accordingly, Ministry officials were also ordered to hand over the relevant video footage to the police for further investigations.
On April 23, members of BBS stormed the Ministry building looking for UPFA Mahiyanganaya Pradeshiya Sabha member Ven. Watareka Vijitha Thera. A police complaint against the BBS was lodged at the Kollupitiya police by an Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
