Asian Mirror is now in a position to reveal that more than 30 Parliamentarians of the United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) have literally worshipped JHU MP Athuraliye Rathana Thera after he voted against the Strategic Development Act which was presented to Parliament.
They had commended the decision made by Rathana Thera and the JHU to vote against the Act while expressing regret over their inability to take a strong against the controversial legislation.

Meanwhile, a JVP Parliamentarian told 'Asian Mirror' that some Parliamentarians representing the ruling party spoke to JVP members after the vote stating the government was not on the "right track". They were, the JVP strongman said, were strongly of the view that the new regulation would result in new Casinos in Colombo, despite repeated assurance by the government.
Housing and Construction Minister and Leader of the Jathika Nidahas Peramuna, a constituent party of the government, was not present in UPFA May Day rally on Thursday as per a decision made by the Central Committee of the party.
The JNP Central Committee made the decision to express their concern over the much debated Strategic Development Act.
