Colombo Fort Magistrate today issued notice on Vajira Nethicumara, sister in law of Sudharma Nethicumara, to appear before court on May 19. 

Vajira Nethicumara, the wife of the late Lakshman Nethicumara, is the owner of the building in which an illegal gambling centre allegedly operated at Union Place Colombo 2. This is thesname gambling centre which led to a controversy involving Lakshman Hulugalla, the former Director General of the Media Centre For National Security, and Sudharma Nethicumara, the wife of Salaka Chief Gamini Nethicumara.

A number of allegations have now been leveled against Vajira Nethicumara and her gambling centre including operating without proper license and issues in tax payments. The Police informed the Fort Magistrate today that Vajira Nethicumara had changed residence and therefore it was not possible to "locate" her for further questioning. 

It was at this point that the Magistrate decided to issue notice on Vajira Nethicumara.
