The reorganization programme of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party is moving 'at a sail's pace' due to lack of response from some members of the reorganization committee, reports said.
A 20 member committee headed by former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga was recently appointed to oversee the reorganization of the party. However, some members of the committee are reportedly not attending its meetings, making it hard to move forward.
SLFP Chairman President Maithripala Sirisena instructed that the party should be reorganized from grass-root level to ensure its victory in the upcoming local government polls, party sources said.
