Sri Lanka Freedom Party Secretary General Duminda Dissanayake said that several parties outside the UPFA were in discussions to contest the Local Government Elections.

Speaking to Asian Mirror, Dissanayake said that the SLFP has already discussed on contesting the LG Elections with several parties within the UPFA. He went on to say that all parties that held discussions have given a positive response.

Meanwhile, some parties outside the UPFA were also discussing on contesting under the alliance, he said. However, he added that he was unable to disclose any further details as the discussions were not yet finalized.
