Pope Welcomes Invitation To Visit SL

Vatican Radio announced that Pope Frnacis accepted an invitation to visit Sri Lanka.

The invitation had been extended by a delegation led by Archbishop of Colombo who is presently in Rome. 

Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa too met Pope Francis a few months ago and invited him to visit Sri Lanka. 

Vatikan had indidcated that Pope Francis would visit Sri Lanka in 2015.
