Serious Concerns Raised Over Government Decision To Open Doors For Indian IT Professionals

Serious concerns have been raised by IT professionals following the government's decision to open way for Indian IT professionals through the Goods and Services Agreement to be signed later this year.

Minister Malik Samarawickrama said that the shipping services and IT services will be included in the agreement, which is expected to be signed in June.

No other services will be included in the agreement, he said.

IT professionals slammed the government's decision, saying that it is a threat to their job security.

There are a large number of freelancers in India who will have no hesitation in working for much lower salaries, they pointed out.
