Speaking to ‘Asian Mirror’ this morning (10), Thevarapperuma said he did not have any faith in closed door sessions where decisions are made based on individual biases.
He also added he was not informed of any disciplinary inquiry against him. However, a member of the Leadership Council confirmed ‘Asian Mirror’ that the Disciplinary Committee of the party is inquiring into four charges against Thevarapperuma.
When contacted by ‘Asian Mirror’, Karu Jayasuriya, Chairman of the UNP Leadership Council said, only Tissa Attanayake, General Secretary of the party, would handle media queries about Thevarapperuma. Attanayake, who was at Sirikotha this morning, said he could speak only in the evening as he was busy with some meetings.
