Three BIA-bound flights were diverted to Mattala International Airport early this morning due to heavy mist.

Accordingly, one Fly Dubai flight arriving from Dubai and two SriLankan Airlines flights from Beijing and Doha were diverted to the Mattala Airport.

The Dubai flight was to arrive in BIA at 5.20 a.m. and landed in Mattala at 5.48 a.m.

The UL 689 from Beijing was scheduled to land at BIA at 5.40 a.m. and landed at Mattala around 5.50 a.m. The UL 218 from Doha was to arrive at BIA at 5.50 a.m.

Following the improvement of the weather conditions, the three flights arrived at BIA later in the morning. The UL 869 flight landed at BIA at 7.57 a.m. and the UL 218 landed at 8.18 a.m.
