Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris today announced his decision of the magisterial inquest into the death of Wasim Thajudeen and confirmed that his death appears to be a murder.
He also ordered the CID director to take necessary steps to arrest the suspects regarding the murder.
The Magistrate said that considering the two JMO reports, the Government Analyst's Report, the reports by Gentech, UCSC and the Motor Traffic Commissioner, there was enough reason to determine that Thajudeen was murdered.
Meanwhile, the CID informed the Magistrate details of the ongoing investigation. The investigation into the telephone records were in the final stages.
The CID also said that the video footage was yet to be sent to foreign laboratories not due to any delay in their part. This has to be coordinated with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the CID said.
