A group claiming to be the 'Bodu Bala Sena' has organized an anti-Muslim protest in Mawanella today.
According to leaflets that are being distributed in the town. the protest is scheduled to take place this evening at the Mawanella town.
The leaflets contain strong anti-Muslim rhetoric and calls for the Sinhala masses to unite against 'Islamic extremism'.
However, when contacted by 'Asian Mirror', BBS General Secretary Galagodaaththe Gnanasara thera said he was not aware of any such protest in Mawanella.
"Some think the BBS is behind everything. I am not aware of any protest in Mawanella. This is the first time I am hearing about it," Gnanasara Thera said.
Meanwhile, speaking to Asian Mirror, a spokesperson of Mawanella Police said they were aware of the protest which is scheduled to take place this evening.
The Spokesperson said, an organization called "Bodu Bala Sena" had informed Mawanella Police about the protest.
This confusion gives rise to so many questions. The real organizers of the protest will only be exposed if and when the protest takes place this evening.
