A Sri Lankan Police officer has made a step in the direction of innovation when it comes to removing road blocks and barriers in the city of Colombo!
An Inspector of Sri Lankan Police has been arrested for stealing “road blocks” and selling them for scrap metal. Police alleged that the Inspector had earned nearly Rs. 100000 by selling barricades for metal scrap.
When the Inspector was produced before Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage yesterday and the Magistrate ordered him to be remanded until July 14.
Three other suspects were also arrested in connection with the same scam and they were released on bail.
