The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment issued a statement to media stating that up to now no Sri Lankan employees working in Israel were harmed from the active violence erupting in the country.

The report also states that over 7000 Sri Lankan employees are working in Israel and about 85% off them were female employees. Majority of Sri Lankan workers are currently employed in the Israeli health sector.

The bureau also says that the Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel is on high alert regarding Sri Lankan employees and in case of an emergency the Embassy is prepared provide sanctuary for them.
