Senior BJP leader and former Minister of the Union Government of India Dr. Subramanian Swamy, has been invited as the keynote speaker at a major international conference organized by Sri Lanka Army.
Dr. Swamy Tweeted a short while ago that “Srilanka Army is hosting an international conference in Colombo. 67 countries are sending their C-in-Cs. I am invited to deliver the Keynote”
Dr. Swamy, India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry in 1990-1991 period, was the Chairman of the Janata Party until it merged with the BJP in 2013. Currently he is the Chairman of the BJP Committee on Strategic Action.
He led a five member expert team connected to the BJP which visited Sri Lanka recently and spoke at a panel discussion on the topic of “India under Modi: Relevance for the Region and the World” organized by the Bandaranaike Center for International Studies and held at the BMICH. In this event, he mentioned that “Targeting Sri Lanka has gone far too much” on Human Rights issues and it has to stop.
