Protest By Frontline Socialist Party Against Israeli Strikes In Palestine

The Frontline Socialist Party is holding a protest near Fort Railway Station in support of the Palestine people in the backdrop of Israeli attacks especially on Gaza Strip. The protest will commence at 4 p.m.

An escalation of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict began in 2014 following a series of events. Those events included the collapse of American-sponsored peace talks, attempts by rival Palestinian factions to form a coalition government, the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers, the subsequent kidnapping and murder of a Palestinian teenager, and increased rocket attacks on Israel by Hamas militants in response to an extensive crackdown by Israeli troops on Hamas in the West Bank. Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched "Operation Protective Edge" in the Gaza Strip on July 8.

Israeli military attacks have killed about 110 Hamas militants and more than 1300 Palestinian civilians. Israel has been criticized for its bombing of civilian targets, including designated UN shelters.

Israel has lost 56 soldiers and three civilians, including 1 Thai worker due to fighting.

Israel’s attack on civilians has generated extensive condemnation from around the world, including the UN. The UN Security Council has repeatedly urged the two sides to come to an immediate ceasefire.
