CID Seeks AG advise To Proceed With Gillian Anderson's Case

The CID - which conducted investigation into an incident where Sri Lankan properties belonging to popular American actress Gillian Anderson-starred as Special Agent “Dana Scully” on the X-Files series had been misappropriated by a Sri Lankan - told Court that they were waiting for Attorney General’s advise regarding the case to take necessary legal action against the Sri Lankan suspect. 

In a complaint before the CID, the American actress had made a complaint through her British companion alleging that the Sri Lankan caretaker in charge of her property located at Nugadola Watta in Pasyala had misappropriated the properties to the tune of Rs17.8 million. 
Following the complaint, the CID had arrested the suspect Anura Weeraratne a cashiered army captain and produced before Court. However, he is currently out on bail.  
 
 
When the case taken up before Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage, the CID informed that they have already forwarded the investigative notes to the
 
Attorney General and they were waiting for his advice to take necessary legal action against the suspect.
The case was postponed for January 28 next year.
