President Mahinda Rajapakse will visit Pakistan later this month, official sources said yesterday.
The announcement of Sri Lankan president’s visit to Islamabad came as the two countries concluded their fourth round of foreign secretary level political consultations.
No dates have been given for the visit.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Tasneem Aslam said that dates for the visit have not been finalised as yet.
“The consultations prepared ground for President Mahinda Rajapakse’s visit to Pakistan later this month,” the joint statement issued after the secretary level parleys said.
Leaders of Pakistan and Sri Lanka during the upcoming visit of President Rajapakse would ‘take stock of the bilateral relations and identify potential areas for cooperation to the mutual benefit of the countries and its people.’ (The Peninsula)
