Dayasiri Receives 1 Million From Aloysius Company: Same Company Involved In Ravi K's Penthouse Controversy

The Criminal Investigations Department informed the Colombo Chief Magistrate yesterday that former Minister and UPFA MP Dayasiri Jayasekera had received Rs. 1 million from a company owned by Arjuna Aloysius.

The CID said Walt and Row company, owned by Perpetual Treasuries owner Aloysius, had paid this money to Jayasekera two years ago.

According to the CID, the former Minister had asked his security officer, Amila Kumara Herath, to encash a cheque (Bearing number 566635) issued by Walt & Row Associates (under the current account number 0073900773).

The money had later been handed over to the Parliamentarian by the same officer.

It was Walt & Row that was at the centre of the penthouse transaction involving former finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake.

Jayasekera was among the 16 MPs of SLFP who sat in opposition having voted against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at the no-confidence motion over the bond scam.
