A heated situation occured when the Colombo GA attempted to enter into the main control room of the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) last night.

A group of workers at the SLRC had reportedly resisted their attempts to monitor the control room on the basis that no unauthorized persons are allowed in the premises.

However, the Colombo GA has lodged a complaint with the Cinnamon Grand police station claiming that his duties were obstructed by SLRC workers.

It is reported that Elections Commission Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya also visited the SLRC premises and inquired into the situtation.

Commenting on the incident, Minister Mangala Samaraweera tweeted, "Gestapo style raid on Rupavahini! Colombo GA's goon squad tries to stop production of my interview on MCC. Elections Commissioner saves the day. The GA must be held accountable."
