Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said a special investigation has been launched, under the instructions of Acting IGP Chandana Wickremaratne, to probe the death of a youth while in the cusotody of the Pugoda police station.

The 21-year-old youth was arrested over drug-related offences.

The victim had died at the Ragama hospital after being admitted due to a sudden illness.
