Veteran singer WD Ariyasinghe passed away today (9) following a prolonged illness.

He was 64 years old at the time of his death.

Ariyasinghe is the husband of Darshani Chandrasena, a university lecturer and music director, and a father of two.

He has sung a number of popular Sinhala songs and imparted his knowledge to students from all walks of life.
