Leading Buddhist Monks Support "Black Sunday" Announced By Catholic Church Demanding Justice For Easter Sunday Victims

Senior Buddhist monks have expressed support for the "Black Sunday", announced by the Catholic Church, demanding justice for the victims of the Easter Sunday attacks.

Issuing a media statement. Dr. Medagama Dhammananda Thera, a prominent Buddhist monk in the Asgiriya chapter, said the demands of the Catholic communty were justifiable.

"Instead of finding out the truth behind who was responsible for the Easter Sunday carnage, the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCOI) has gone to the extent of recommednfing to proscrive Buddhist organisations," Dr. Dhammananda Thera said criticising the content of the report.

The Thera said they were deeply unsatisfied and disappointed with the report and it had failed to produce a significant otcome.

The Cathoic Church has announced a Black Friday on March 07 uging Christians to come to churches clad in black and pray for justice for the victims of the Easter Sunday attacks.
