Supreme Court Rejects Motion Seeking Reconsideration Of 4 Year Prison Sentence Imposed On Ranjan Ramanayake

The Supreme Court has rejected a motion filed by MP Ranjan Ramanayake seeking reconsideration of his four-year sentence for contempt of court.

The motion was filed by his lawyers on behalf of the MP.

Ramanayake has been sentenced to four years of Rigorous Imprisonment for contempt of court.

The MP is currently being held at the Angunakolapelessa Prison. Meanwhile, a court ruling is pending on Ramanayake's eligibility to continue as an MP.
