PM Convenes Emergency Group Meeting Of Ruling Party This Evening In The Wake Of Port City Controversy

An emergency meeting of the ruling party's parliamentary group will be held under the patronage of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees at 6.30 pm today.

According to government sources, the controversy over the Colombo Port City Economic Zones Special Commission Bill will be discussed at the meeting.

However, the government has decided to hold the meeting this afternoon du to the controversy over the Port City Bill.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that a group of ministers and parliamentarians are preparing to make a request at today's government party meeting to take disciplinary action against those criticise the government's activities from within.
