The Bodu Bala Sena today warned that Muslim extremism would cause more damage than the 30 year old war against the LTTE. “Muslim extremism could be far worse than LTTE terrorism if the authorities do not take necessary measures to prevent it from spreading,” Ven. Vitharandeniya Nanda Thera, National Organizer of the BBS said addressing a media briefing today.
He also said that Muslim extremist elements are striving to establish Sharia Law in Sri Lanka and that it would lead to grave consequences. He pointed out that Sharia Law has crept into the country’s banking system and that BBS have evidence to prove that such a system has already been implemented in certain places.
Meanwhile, BBS Chief Executive Officer Dilantha Withanage accused several politicians including Rauff Hakeem, Azath Salley, Alavi Moulana and Milinda Moragoda of helping to lay the foundation to establish Sharia Law in the country.
