Arundika Fernando Steps Down From State Minister Post Amidst Controversy Over Assault On Medical Students

Minister of State Arundika Fernando resigned from his post today (03).

Fernando and his son have been linked to the assault on a group of medical students at the Ragama Medical Faculty.

He told a special media briefing today that he would resign from the post until a proper investigation into the incident is carried out.

Informed political sources said President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa had directed Fernando to step down from office.
