Former MP Ranjan Ramanayaka is likely to receive a presidential pardon this month, informed government sources said.

Ramanayake is currently serving four-year imprisonment for contempt of court.

Various attempts to obtain a presidential pardon for the former MP had turned futile in the past.

Ramanayake, a popular actor, is also seen as a crusader against corruption.
