Former Minister Patali Champika Ranawana today stated in Parliament that he would function independently in Parliament.

Making a special statement in Parliament, he said he would no longer be affiliated with the SJB-led alliance.

Ranawaka said he would not join the current government or accept any portfolios.

The former Minister stated that a fresh approach is needed and an all party government should be formed to deal with the current challenges faced by Sri Lanka.
