The price of Litro domestic LP gas has increased, effective from midnight today, resulting in higher costs for consumers across Sri Lanka. This price adjustment impacts different cylinder sizes, with increases ranging from Rs. 18 to Rs. 95.
The price hike comes as consumers grapple with rising costs of essential commodities, further affecting their household budgets. The new prices for different cylinder sizes are as follows:
- 12.5 kg cylinder: The price has increased by Rs. 95, now standing at Rs. 3,565.
- 5 kg cylinder: Consumers will pay Rs. 38 more, with the new price at Rs. 1,431.
- 2.3 kg cylinder: An increase of Rs. 18 brings the new price to Rs. 668.
This upward adjustment in LP gas prices is likely to impact households' expenditures, as LP gas is a crucial energy source for cooking and other domestic purposes. Consumers are likely to feel the strain of higher prices as they budget for their daily needs.
