Colombo Court Issues Order Against Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa Ahead of Massive Protest Rally

The Colombo Chief Magistrate has issued an order preventing Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa and several others from holding a protest that may inconvenience the public or pedestrians along roads in the Maligawatte Police area today.

The order comes following a request made by the Police, citing concerns over potential disruptions to public order and safety. The Sri Lanka Police expressed apprehensions regarding the planned protest, prompting them to seek legal intervention to mitigate any potential risks.

The opposition party, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), had scheduled a massive protest rally later today, drawing attention to pressing issues and grievances.
