T-56 firearm has gone missing from the Wilgamuwa Police Station in Matale.
According to police spokesman DIG Nihal Thalduwa, the weapon vanished from the security post while a police officer was on duty at the main gate. An investigation has been initiated, with statements recorded from the officer in question. Authorities are working to ascertain whether the firearm was stolen or if there are other factors contributing to its disappearance.
