Former State Minister Palitha Thewarapperuma's Final Rites Scheduled for Friday

Hi The final rites of the late former State Minister Palitha Thewarapperuma are set to take place on Friday evening, April 19th, in Yatadolawatta, Matugama.
Thewarapperuma, who tragically passed away on Tuesday evening after being electrocuted in his garden, will be honored at his residence in Yatadolawatta, Matugama, where his remains will be placed for public viewing starting Wednesday afternoon.

Born on May 3, 1960, Thewarapperuma represented Parliament from the United National Party between 2010 and 2020, holding various key positions including Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development, and Cultural Affairs, as well as State Minister of Wildlife. His commitment to social service, particularly evident during the COVID-19 pandemic, distinguished him as a dedicated public servant. Thewarapperuma's legacy in politics and community service will be remembered as his community bids him farewell.
