Finance Ministry Secretary Mahinda Siriwardena has been given a one-year service extension by President Ranil Wickremesinghe. Siriwardena, formerly the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, retired from that role last Friday. The President's Office highlighted Siriwardena's significant contributions to International Monetary Fund negotiations and the ongoing debt restructuring efforts as the basis for the extension.
