President’s Fund Launches Two New Scholarship Programs

 

Under the directive of President Ranil Wickremesinghe, the President’s Fund has introduced two new scholarship programs aimed at expanding educational opportunities across Sri Lanka.

The first program targets monks, nuns, and lay students enrolled in Piriven and Seelamatha Educational Institutions, offering scholarships ranging from Rs. 3000 to Rs. 6000 per month for up to 24 months. The initiative aims to benefit 822 institutions nationwide, with applications due by May 22nd, 2024.

The second initiative supports students specializing in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level). Backed by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, the program provides Rs. 6000 monthly scholarships to eligible students until they sit for their examinations.

Both programs underscore the President’s commitment to fostering educational accessibility and excellence, aligning with ongoing efforts to support students from various backgrounds.
