Trinity College Rugby Player Shabeer Ahamed Passes Away

 

Trinity College has announced the tragic passing of 19-year-old rugby player Shabeer Ahamed. Ahamed succumbed to multi-organ failure after battling severe pneumonia, according to a statement issued by College Principal Fr. Araliya Jayasundara.

“It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we inform you of the tragic passing of one of our cherished students and rugby players, Mast. Shabeer Ahamed, due to multi-organ failure following severe pneumonia,” the statement read.

Described as a "very pleasant child" and a beloved member of the school community, Ahamed's loss is deeply felt by students, faculty, and friends. The Sri Lankan rugby community has also expressed their condolences, paying tribute to the young athlete.
