Sri Lanka's High Commissioner to India, Kshenuka Senewiratne, along with Deputy High Commissioner Priyanga Wickramasinghe, met with India's newly reappointed Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, in Delhi. The visit was to extend felicitations on Sitharaman’s reappointment and to discuss furthering the bilateral relationship between Sri Lanka and India.
In a statement, the Sri Lankan High Commission in New Delhi expressed anticipation for enhanced cooperation and enduring friendship between the two nations.
Nirmala Sitharaman, who has been India’s Finance Minister since 2019, assumed her role again on Wednesday and is expected to present the final Budget for FY 2025 soon. This Budget will outline the priorities for the Modi 3.0 government’s vision for a developed India (Viksit Bharat). Notably, Sitharaman is set to make history by presenting her seventh consecutive Budget and sixth full Budget.
