Train Operations Restored on Upcountry Line

The Department of Railways has announced that train services along the upcountry railway line have been restored. This follows the derailment of a train traveling from Badulla to Colombo between Talawakelle and Watagoda on Thursday, June 13th, which had caused  disruptions.

Despite the resolution of issues on the upcountry line, delays continue to affect the coastal railway line. A separate derailment near the Panadura railway station, also on June 13th, has led to trains operating on only one of the two available tracks on this route.
