Namal Rajapaksa Warns Northern Voters of ‘Double Standard’ Politicians

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Organizer and MP Namal Rajapaksa has issued a warning to voters in the North to be wary of politicians who shift their policies to garner electoral support.

Addressing the electorate, Rajapaksa specifically highlighted the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) and other parties, urging constituents to remain vigilant ahead of the upcoming elections. He emphasized that while the implementation of the 13th Amendment to the Constitution is a critical issue for many politicians, voters should only trust those who have consistently supported it.

Rajapaksa cautioned against trusting politicians who change their positions solely for electoral gain. He also criticized parties that initially sought to abolish the Executive Presidency but have since altered their stance, demonstrating what he described as political double standards.
