Sri Lankan Hostages in Myanmar Cyber Camps May Be Freed Soon, Says State Minister

 State Minister of Foreign Affairs Tharaka Balasuriya has announced hopeful news regarding the imminent release of Sri Lankans held captive in cyber crime camps in Myanmar. Returning from Myanmar to Katunayake International Airport, Balasuriya shared updates on ongoing negotiations aimed at securing the freedom of these detainees.

Currently, 49 Sri Lankans are among those forcibly held in these camps. The situation is part of a larger crisis, with over 100,000 young people from various countries similarly detained, including approximately 53,000 Chinese nationals.
