Sri Lankan Navy Seizes Over Rs 13 Billion Worth of Narcotics This Year

 

The Sri Lankan Navy has reported seizing narcotics valued at over Rs. 13.21 billion so far this year. In a recent statement, the Navy highlighted an alarming rise in drug trafficking activities disguised as fishing operations.

The latest incident, occurring last Friday, involved the interception of a multi-day fishing vessel in the southern sea. During this operation, the Navy seized 131 kilograms of heroin and arrested six individuals connected to the smuggling effort.
