Princess Anne, the Princess Royal, is recovering well after sustaining a minor head injury and concussion, her husband Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence reported following a hospital visit. The injury, caused by an accident involving a horse on her Gloucestershire estate, required her to be admitted to Southmead Hospital, Bristol, on Sunday.

Sir Tim Laurence visited her for two hours on Tuesday and assured well-wishers that Princess Anne, 73, is making slow but steady progress. "She's doing fine, slow but sure," he said, expressing gratitude for the expert care provided by the medical team and the support from the emergency services at the scene.

Due to her condition, Princess Anne will miss the upcoming state banquet with the Emperor and Empress of Japan and has postponed her planned trip to Canada. The King, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer have all sent their best wishes for her speedy recovery.

Princess Anne is expected to stay in the hospital for further observation and is anticipated to make a full recovery.
