The All Ceylon Grama Niladhari Officers Association has announced a two-day strike starting tomorrow, June 28. Members of the association will cease their duties on Friday and Saturday in protest.

General Secretary Jagath Chandralal highlighted the need for increased travel, fuel, uniform, and communication allowances, which have not been adjusted since 2016. This strike is an extension of the ongoing Work To Rule campaign.

As a result of the trade union action, many Grama Niladhari offices remained closed today, June 27.
