Former Member of Parliament Hirunika Premachandra has been sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment. The order was issued by Colombo High Court Judge Amal Ranaraja.

Premachandra was found guilty of 18 charges, including aiding and abetting the kidnapping of a young man working at a store in Dematagoda in 2015.
