Yasodha Range Bandara, son of United National Party (UNP) General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara, was arrested early this morning following a car accident. The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. in the Elephant Pass area near the 7th Mile Post, Mee-Oya, Karuwalagaswewa.

Bandara's car reportedly veered off the road and collided with a three-wheeler. The driver of the three-wheeler sustained serious injuries and was admitted to Puttalam Base Hospital for treatment.
The Karuwalagaswewa Police are conducting further investigations.
