The National Transport Commission (NTC) is set to announce the annual bus fare revision today. NTC Chairman Shashi Welgama confirmed that the new fares will be revealed at a press conference scheduled for 1:00 PM.

Welgama said that this revision follows the 2002 agreement between the NTC and private bus associations, mandating fare announcements every year on July 1st. The updated fares are eagerly awaited by the public and stakeholders alike.
