Early Wednesday morning, a fire broke out in a row of estate houses in Palallegama estate No. 2, located in Yatiyanthota, claiming the lives of two individuals. The victims have been identified as a 60-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman.

Sri Lanka Police reported that two additional estate houses sustained damage in the fire. Firefighters have successfully extinguished the fire, but the cause remains under investigation.
