Strict Measures Against Disruption of School Education:President

President Ranil Wickremesinghe highlighted the critical need for discipline within the teaching profession to ensure the smooth running of the education system. Addressing an event at Temple Trees, he declared that any disruption of school education between 7:30 am and 1:30 pm will not be tolerated, instructing the Attorney General to propose measures to enforce this directive.

The President underscored the importance of education for future generations and stressed that school closures and strikes must not impede children's learning. He also highlighted ongoing discussions with the Education Minister about implementing a computerized teacher transfer system to ensure fairness in promotions and teacher treatment.

At the ceremony, appointments were awarded to 60 Education Administrative Service officers and teaching positions to 1,706 graduates and 453 English diploma holders. The President urged everyone to prioritize children’s education and avoid actions that sabotage the educational process.
