JICA to Resume Projects in Sri Lanka

Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Aviation Nimal Siripala de Silva announced that the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will discuss resuming their projects in Sri Lanka next week, following recent debt restructuring efforts. Despite interest from Chinese firms, contractual agreements require that Japanese companies handle these projects.

The  management of the financially troubled Mattala Airport will soon be handed over to a joint venture between Russia and India. The minister also highlighted progress at the Kankesanthurai port, supported by USD 69 million from India.
